The Lakes of Tempe, Arizona:
Lighted Boat Parade, December 13, 2009

Photos by Nori

Every year, people dress up their boats and compete in the boat parade. This boat, The Phantom of the Lakes, came in first place.

The pirate ship came in second place.

The candy cane boat came in third place. Congratulations to all the boats!

One more photo of the boats.

This was the venue, hard to see, but this is the newly rebuilt boardwalk across the street from the clubhouse. You can see the outdoor restaurant and bar, Pier 54, in the background, center. In past years, this event was held on the patio of the Waterfront event center (dark except for one large light fixture, far left). After all the work and expense to rebuild the boardwalk, it was a happy surprise that it is a great venue for this event.

Come visit us again! There is always another party or picnic just around the corner.
